Nick joined the Ironbridge Coaching Staff in 2017, and serves as our Assistant Director of Baseball Operations. Conner is a Chesterfield native and graduated from L.C. Bird, where he was a 1st team all-district player. Nick was starting short stop his sophomore year, but pitched almost every game. He was one of the only pitchers that could throw a 94 in high school, and he had a batting average of .500, with 7 home runs. After high school, Conner attended Pitt Community College, and signed as a pitcher for the Washington Nationals soon after. Nick accomplished one of his biggest personal goals with the Nationals and threw a 98.
Since his release from the Nationals, Nick has continued his love for baseball by teaching here at Ironbridge. He specializes in pitching, hitting, and fielding, and is our go to guy for lessons. Nick leads by example and personalizes his methods of teaching to fit the needs of every player. While baseball is a huge part of what Nick preaches, he also has the bigger picture in the back of his mind, and emphasizes how important it is to do well in school. Nick also assists our head coaches at tournaments and is always willing to lend a hand.
When he isn’t teaching, Nick simply enjoys being around the game and attending weekend tournaments. Conner spends a lot of time with his mom, and can never pass up her famous lasagna. Nick emphasizes the importance of exercise and staying active to our players, and always manages to fit the gym into his busy schedule.
