Our Coaches

Steve Pearson

Coach Pearson comes to us from New Kent County, and brings with him years of experience. Pearson joined the Ironbridge Coaching Staff in 2018 and currently serves as head coach for our 10U Pearson team.

Pearson played ball at Potomac State College in 1993 and 1994, where he was starting shortstop. He played in the JUCO World Series in 1993 and 1994 and made the first team All-World Series team in 1994. He also led the team in batting avg (.406) in 1994. Pearson signed a scholarship to play at the University of Rio Grande in 1994, but a back injury finished his baseball playing career.

Prior to joining Ironbridge, Pearson was the assistant coach at Varina High School from 1999-2008. He was also the New Kent Giants 8u and 9u assistant coach and head coach for the Virginia Rangers 8u team in 2017. While Coach Pearson has extensive knowledge of all aspects of the game, hitting and fielding are his top two areas of expertise.

When Pearson isn’t coaching, he enjoys perfecting his golf game or hanging out with his family. He enjoys visiting new baseball stadiums with his son, Blake and will never turn down a good steak!
